I'm currently Chief Technology Officer at 'TSV Online Fitness' one of the UK's fastest growing online fitness companies. I moved there after leaving my position as Head of UI/UX and FE development at Reward Insight, the world's leading banking loyalty app program where I worked closely with the heads of 4 major UK and global banks including Visa Barclaycard, RBS and Natwest. I'm constantly designing, building and deploying side projects for myself and clients. I love taking ideas from zero to one.

Founded a software development company specialising in mobile app-based B2B solutions for SMB’s. Worked with clients across Northern Ireland, London and Germany. Most recent clients include multibillion turnover company Karcher Global GmbH. We worked with their largest store in the UK to build a suite of software products and tools impacting 360 degrees of Karcher Centres business infrastructure from front-end sales to automated customer communication and predictive stock analysis. A bespoke point of sale system (processing over £4,000,000 in sales since launch), a management and analytics dashboard, a CRM app, a customer focused click and collect mobile app on iOS and Android, and a warehouse stock management system. This was pitched by the managing director of Karcher UK to the MD’s of 60 countries with full buy-in by all parties and an official request for a 4country trial in 8 locations by the CEO Marcus Ash.

The Sculpted Vegan is an online fitness company that offers fitness programs to thousands of customers globally. When I first started work with The Sculpted Vegan they were a website only platform offering traditional fitness programs to customers asPDF's behind a paywall. My role was to transform their business model from traditional one-time payment PDF's to an interactive and engaging native iOS and Android mobile app and SASS product to rival the top competitors in the fitness market. This role began as a side project in the evenings after my work at Reward Insight during the day.
I spent 11 months developing the app from designing mockups, UI/UX and FE code to server and database setup and backend nodeJS server integration via Heroku and AWS. It was a challenging and satisfying project to take a traditional non-digital product and rebuild it from the ground up into an engaging native app solution. Upon launch in November we built revenues of £70,000+ in subscriptions in only 3 months and had my work featured in several articles online.
The app currently has a rating of 4.4 in the iOS app store(as of march 2022) and has thousands of customers worldwide. Part of this project was also tracking detailed user journey statistics via an analytics dashboard to display key metrics, revenue figures and interactions of the customer within the apps functionality. The app has a rich feature set that really touched the breadth of my knowledge as a developer from a custom built facebook style community utilising live feeds via web sockets to native in-app payments integrations and detailed customer fitness progress tracking.
Server side scale and management of growth was of the upmost importance with the app being downloaded by thousands of users on launch day so I used Heroku auto scaling to help manage traffic spikes on both my nodeJs server and postgres database. Just before launch of the app to customers I was offered the full-time role of CTO at The Sculpted Vegan to continue development of the app feature-set based on customer feedback as well as help manage the cross section of technology used within the business and scale up a team.

Reward Insight provide loyalty rewards and cashback schemes for the worlds leading banks like Visa Barclaycard, Natwest and RBS. I started at Reward in a contract position (Sep 19-Aug 20) assuming their only designer and front-end developer role in the company. In the first12 months I was solely responsible for developing all of the UI, UX and front-end code (Angular & Ionic) for their Rewards Program role-out toVirgin Bank, Natwest and RBS to a combined 5 million customers. This involved regular client design meetings with the banks, the designing of a scalable, performant and user-friendly interface, all front-end code and integration via API's to our backend microservices.
At the end of my contract position I was given the full-time role of Chief Of UI/UX (Aug 20-Aug 21) as our team scaled up to meet client demand. I ran a team of 4 front-end developers helping them to turn my mockups and designs into fully fledged products to meet the banks specifications and requirements. I was a pivotal
part of developing our new product roadmap from an per client approach into a single codebase, fully customisable product platform with adaptable modular features, customisable branding and colour scheme and design elements. This enabled us to scale rapidly and reduced turnaround of client rewards program integrations from over12 months to 4-6 months.
I loved my role in Reward and it gave me immeasurable experience in leading a talented team and managing the expectations of global large-scale clients.
